Two young ladies, Misses Adaline and Eliza Richardson, dug up a small piece of deadly hemlock root, and supposing it to be angelroot, they acted upon the fatal error, each eating a small piece of the poisonous stuff. In about thirty minutes the poison showed itself, and in half an hour longer, Adaline died in violent convulsions. The other sister very narrowly escaped the same fate.
