They are all old Confederate veterans, Colley and Todd having been members of Wheeler’s cavalry and Isom a private in Leydon’s battalion of artillery, and all saw service around Atlanta in 1865. They are now prosperous and progressive farmers of this county and influential men in their community. During the period of unpleasantness there were no more brave or daring soldiers in the ranks and with the advent of peace they returned to agricultural pursuits and by dint of hard work, directed by good, hard common sense, have accumulated considerable wealth. It is probable that they party will extend their trip so as to include a tour through the most interesting parts of Indian Territory . The three couples made quite a congenial group as they pulled out of Atlanta and all looked forward to their trip to the reunion with the keenest pleasure. Additional Comments: James Colley is James Edward Colley (b. 11 May 1845, DeKalb County GA, died 23 August 1930, Atlanta, GA), son of Daniel Carson Colley and Olive Vine Queen Colley. He married Mary Ann Eliza Plaster of DeKalb County, daughter of Benjamin Nancy C. Plaster.
