Chris Glaze was born in Atlanta Georgia and grew up in Texas, New Jersey and Georgia. She attended Peachtree High School in Chamblee, Ga (now Dunwoody), where she played flute in the high school band, and where she met her future husband, Jeff. Christie was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church in Dunwoody, where she nurtured her deep Christian faith and encouraged others in their spiritual journey. She was active in her Sunday school and was a frequent volunteer for the church's VBS. Christie played in Kingwood's wind ensemble for years. Christie was severely injured in an auto accident in 1978 while a student at DeKalb Community College. Her spirit of determination and drive served her well in her recovery and rehabilitation, and in the ensuing years of surgery and pain management. When told she would never walk again, she redoubled her efforts in physical therapy. She was always a model patient, exceeding the doctors' expectations, and inspiring others around her to never give up. In 1980, Christie walked down the aisle at Kingswood UMC to marry Jeff Glaze. When told she would never have children, Christie worked hard to prove that wrong. After sixteen years, the Glazes were blessed with the miracle birth of their daughter Julianne. Julianne was the love of her life and her reason for hope. Christie was a lifetime member of the Girls Scouts, and enjoyed being a leader beginning in Julianne's Daisy and Brownie years. Christie was also a habitual reader and writer. She enjoyed reading inspirational fiction, scrapbooking, and journaling. She also enjoyed giving gifts she knew would bring a joyous smile to those she held dear. Chris Glaze was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Miles Wells; her grandparents Harold Miles Wells, Sr. and Mamie Williams Wells; Farris Boyd and Emily Davis Boyd. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Jeffrey Lee Glaze and daughter Julia Annette Glaze (Julianne) of Doraville, GA; her parents, Harold Miles Wells and Charlotte Annette Boyd Wells of Lawrenceville, Ga; brother Kevin Boyd Wells and his wife Holly Wells of Nicholson, Ga.
