Cook One of the most beautiful weddings of the early fall of interest to a wide circle of friends was that of Miss Elizabeth Cook and Pierce W. Cook, which took place at the Decatur Presbyterian church on Tuesday, November 4, at 2:30 o’clock. The pastor, Dr. McGeachy, officiated in the presence of a large circle of friends and relatives. Music was rendered during the ceremony by Miss Burgess, organist. The church was decorated with foliage and green house plants in variegated shades and palms. A large wicker floor vase stood in the center filled with gold chrysanthemums, on either side of which was placed a seven-branch candelabra, holding white burning tapers. The bridesmaids were cousins of the bride, Miss Tallulah Cook, of Biloxi, Miss., and Miss Hazel Shearer, of Atlanta. They were charmingly gowned in brown and gold with hats to match and carried large arm bouquets of gold chrysanthemums. Mrs. John Tuggle, sister of the groom, was the matron of honor, and was lovely in brown with a shower bouquet of yellow roses. Frank Cook and Louis Cook, brothers of the groom, were groomsmen, and Edwin Cook and S.R. Cook were ushers. Preceding the bride was the little flower girl, little Roseann Elmore Taylor, daintily dressed in peach georgette, with gold band in her hair, carrying a small French basket filled with yellow and white roses. The bride entered with her father, Frederick P. Cook, who gave her in marriage and was met at the altar by the groom and his best man, Charlie Daniel. She was charming in a model of wood brown, fur trimmed and hat to match. She was never more beautiful and carried a large shower bouquet of bride’s roses and valley lilies. Mr. and Mrs. Cook left for a wedding journey to Florida and upon their return will be with the groom’s mother until they go to housekeeping. Mrs. Cook is the lovely daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F.P. Cook and is a young girl possessing a charming personality. After graduating from the Decatur High school with honors, she attended Elizabeth Mather. Mr. Cook is the son of Mrs. Minnie Cook and is popular both in social and business life. He is prominently connected with the firm of G.L. Miller & Co., stocks and bonds. Among the out-of-town guests were Julian P. Bass, of Savannah; Miss Tallulah Cook, of Biloxi, Miss.; Mr. and Mrs. S.R. Cook, of Montgomery, Ala.; Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson, of Stockbridge; Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Mann, of Social Circle; Representative and Mrs. Mann, of Brunswick, and Mrs. Sue Townsend, of Montgomery, Ala.
