No cards. --------------- Dowis-Freeman The marriage of Miss Frances Mae Freeman to Chaplain Solmon Franklin Dowis took place Tuesday, November 5, at 3 o'clock, at the home of the bride in Decatur, Ga. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Matthews, of Lawrenceville. The house was decorated throughout with ferns and chrysanthemums. The altar, massed with vines and ferns, was draped with a United States flag. Miss Annie Wilson sang, and Lohengrin's wedding march was played by Miss Ruth Hood. Miss Maggie Joe Sammon and Curtis Dowis were ring bearers. The groom's brother, Mr. Herbert Dowis, of the aviation corps, Camp Sheridan, was best man. Miss Raynne Freeman was maid of honor. Punch was served in the hall by Misses Annie Mae Hinton and Vivian Dowis. Assisting in entertaining were Mrs. Ralph Freeman and Mrs. Sim Whatley Haines. Mrs. Dowis is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J B Freeman, of Decatur. She is a graduate of the G N & I C and has been science teacher in the high school at Lawrenceville. Mr. Dowis is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W T Dowis, of Duluth. He is a graduate of Mercer university. Immediately after the ceremony Chaplain and Mrs. Dowis left for a wedding trip to New York, Richmond, Va., and other points. Among the out of town guests were Mr. W T Dowis, and family, Miss Craig, Misses Mary Boles, Lucile Parson's, of Duluth; Mr. Sim Whatley Haines, of Atlanta; Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Freeman, of Hosehton; Miss Josie Mae Johnson, from Bessie Tift college; Mr. Herbert Dowis, Camp Sheridan; Mr. J F McCollough, Misses Mamie Williams, Pittard, Cora and Georgia Byrd and Mrs. J P Byrd, of Lawrenceville.
