WILTON PHILIP COBB J. B. ELKINS. Mr. J. B. Elkins is also one of the three living Confederate Veterans, and is now eighty-seven years of age. He was born in Barnwell District, South Carolina, and moved to this county about twenty-five years ago. He served during the war in Company A, Second South Carolina Volunteer Artillery. He served from 1862 and was with Johnson's army when terms were made with Sherman at Greensboro, N. C. He married Miss Neta S. Dorrill, of Charleston, S. C., and they were the parents of the following children: Oliver, who died in infancy; Leila; Herbert, who died in infancy; Myrtle, who died in infancy; Dorrill, who married Maude Martin; Haywood, who died in infancy; Cassa Ruth, who married Reppard Woolen; Marrus.
