FORMER EASTMAN RESIDENT DIES IN SAUGERTIES, N. Y.

James A. Buchan, 52, of Blue Mountain, Saugerties, N. Y., died suddenly 
Tuesday, April 14, in Nassau, the Bahamas, where he and his wife were 
vacationing.

Known by his customers and most of his friends as "Jim" and by his family and 
close asociates as "Red," he was a self-employed plumber and electrical 
contractor, operating James A. Buchan, Inc, for more than 21 years.

Born August 3, 1917, in Eastman, he was the son of the late James Ogletree and 
Dona Henrietta Buchan.  He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the 
Centerville Fire Company.

He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Faulk, daughter, Judith Ann, a 
student at Skidmore College, a son James Dennis, at home, a sister, Mrs 
Charles (Pearl B.) Rowell, of Saxton; a brother, Thomas J.Buchan, of Virginia, 
a niece, Mrs. Donald L. Snider, of New York City, two nephews, Chharles Rowell 
of Saxton, and Thomas Buchan, of Augusta, S.C.  Also surviving are several 
aunts and cousins in Georgia and Florida.

Compiler Notes: His mother Dona Henrietta "Lady" "Gallie" Nobles was the 
Daughter of: Eli Phillip Jackson Nobles {1868-1937} & Francis R. Barrs {1872-
1890} Francis took her own life.
