(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net January 10, 2013, 6:55 pm The Macon Telegraph 4-16-1979 Page 5B Loyd Carroll Services for Loyd Lee Carroll, 75, of 3752 Brownley Drive, who died Saturday at his residence after a brief illness, will be held at 2pm Monday in the chapel of Crest Lawn and burial will be held at 4pm in Bowers Cemetery in Empire, Ga. Mr. Carroll, a native of Dodge County, had resided in Macon for the past seven years. He was an Army veteran of World War I, a Jehovah's Witness and retired from the Robins Air Force Base. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Odell Mooney Carroll of Macon; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred C. Bridger of Macon and Mrs. Marion C. Mauro of Montgomery, Ala.; three sons, Jack Carroll of Cochran, Hollan Carroll of Eastman, and Bobby Carroll of Dearing; four stepsons, Ray Hooten, Billy Hooten, Charles Hooten, and David Hooten, all of Macon; a sister, Mrs. Alene C. Shaffer of Augusta; 24 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. The family will be at the residence of Jack Carroll, Route 2, Cochran. Crest Lawn Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Loyd was born 5 Jul 1903 to John Henry Carroll and Sophie Phillips Carroll.
