             DEATH  TAKE  AGED  CITIZEN.
Jacon[should be Jacob] C. Dykes, one of Dodge County's oldest citizens, died 
at his home, Eastman, Route Six. early Monday morning following an extended 
illness of the infirmities of old age, he being 88 years old at the time of 
his death.  He was the son of James J. Dykes  and  Mrs Sallie Roland Dykes

He had neen married three times.  Surviving are his wife Sallie Roland Dykes,  
three sons,  J. L. Dykes, Eastman, Route Six,   K. C. Dykes, Eastman Route 
One,  C. W. Dykes,  Atlanta,  and  two daughters,  Mrs Paul Mullis  and  Mrs 
O. B. Mullis.

Funeral services were conducted at Bethel Church Tuesday afternoon by Rev. J. 
B. Evans  and  Rev. J. H. Estes.  The following grandsons served as 
pallbearers,  Alvin Dykes,  William Howell,  Roscoe Giddens,  Calvin Dykes,  
Bunion  and  Massie Mullis.  Interment was in Rozar Cemetery.

Compiler Notes:  I changed  his  obituary to read Jacob C. Dykes.  He was 
known as "Jake".  In the Dodge County Cemetery Book, page 180, he is listed 
as  Jake C. Dykes  & he is listed as Jacob C. Dykes on his Death Certificate 
in Dodge County, Georgia.  He was born 7 Sep 1852 in Pulaski County, Georgia 
and died on 3 Nov 1940 at home in Dodge County Georgia (near Eastman).
