                    FINCHER
   The funeral service for Billy R. Fincher, 27, of Fitzgerald, was held April 
19, in the chapel of Stokes-Southern Funeral Home, with interment in Orphans 
Cemetery.  Rev.  David Fisher officiated.
   Pallbearers were Marlin Eldridge,  Ray Wheeler,  Aubrey Nicholson, Jr.,  
Dane Goode,  Charles Bloodworth and  Kyle Bloodworth.  Mrs. Gledna Butler 
provided sacred organ music.
   Mr. Fincher accidentally drowned in a pond near Fitzgerald on April 17.
   Born in Dodge County, Mr.  Fincher had lived in Fitzgerald for the past 
eight years.  He was a textile employee.
   Survivors include one daughter,  Miss April Fincher, of Fitzgerald, 
mother,  Mrs. Bessie L. Fincher, of Abbeville; six sisters,  Mrs. Nora Curtis, 
Kathleen;  Mrs. Betty Peacock, Eastman;  Mrs. Ruth Hill, Byromville;  Mrs. 
Cynthia Moorehouse, Abbeville;  Mrs. Audrey Peterman, Byromville;  and  Mrs. 
Martha Fletcher, Fitzgerald; three brothers,  Paul Fincher, Warner Robins;   
Carl E. Fincher,  Chula Vista, California;  and  Charles W. Fincher,  of 
Abbeville

Compiler Notes:  Billy R.  Fincher grew up in Rochelle, Wilcox County, Georgia 
and graduated from Wilcox High School in the Class of 1970.  He later moved to 
Fitzgerald, Georgia.
