    Mr. W. J. Hamilton, the father of Mrs. W. D. McCollum and J. W. Hamilton, 
of this place, died at his home in Rhine last week.  Mr. Hamilton had been in 
failing health and his death was not unexpected.
   He came from Taylor County to Rochelle about 12 years ago and lived here 
until 1900, and moved to Abbeville.  Recently he moved to Rhine, where he went 
to join his life-time mate who preceded him only a few years ago.  
  He was 77 years old at the time of his death, and leaves, besides his second 
wife, several children.
   Mr. Hamilton was a highly respected gentleman and upright citizen -

William James Hamiliton was born March 1828 and came to Wilcoox County from 
Taylor Conty,  Georgia.  Marriage records attached:
