(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net September 25, 2013, 3:45 pm The Cochran Journal 6-12-1969 P10 James Austin Holder Funeral services for James Austin Holder, 53 of 513 Palm Street in Cochran, who died Friday evening in the Hawkinsville Hospital following a long illness, were held Sunday afternoon in the Chapel of Fisher Funeral Home. The services were conducted by Rev. Victor Myrick. Burial was in the family lot in the Rozier Cemetery in Dodge County. Mr. Holder was born in Dodge County, the son of the late John J. Holder and Harriett Dykes Holder and has lived in Cochran for the past sixteen years. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and was a retired civil service employee of Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Holder served in the US Navy during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Geraldine Martin Holder of Cochran; one son, Carlton Holder of Eastman; two daughters, Mrs. Homer D. Barlow of Macon and Mrs. Richard Bemister of Statesboro; and five grandchildren. The pallbearers were: James Horton, Tom Fisher, Hugh Woodard, Ronald Woodard, Duane Woodard, Hoyt Sheffield, Charles Floyd, and Robert Floyd. Fisher Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
