Howell, a good citizen and prominent farmer of Eastman, Route Six, died at his home Saturday night, following an extended illness of high blood pressure. The body was buried in Rozar Cemetery Monday afternoon, funeral services being conducted by Rev. J. B. Evans, Rev. Josh Chance, Rev. J. M. Giddens, and Rev. J. F. Dykes. The following served as pallbearers: J. C. Tripp, E. B. Holder, Newton Mullis, Calvin Dykes, Emmett Armstrong, and W. R. Giddens. A program of song was rendered by the Giddens Sisters' quartette. Funeral arrangements were in charge of J. W. Peacock Co. Mr. Howell was 62 years old and is survived by his wife and the following children: J. H., E. H., Allen, Willie, Henry, Ellis, Misses Pearl and Harpei Howell. Additional Comments: William Ashley was born 10 Aug 1867 ( according to his death certificate; however, the census would indicate the year to be 1869 to 1870) to Henry Howell and Mary Elizabeth Jane "Elvie" Ann Lee Lamb Howell.
