                    Mr. Willie A. Howell
 Funeral services for Willie Howell, age 61 of Rte. 5 Cochran, who was killed 
in a car accident Jan. 1, 1968 on Hwy 23 near Middle Georgia College, were 
held Wednesday afternoon at 3:00pm at Empire Baptist Church with Re. Hinson 
Purser and Rev. Gerald Fordham officiating. Burial was in Bower's Cemetery.
 Mr. Howell was a native of Dodge County and lived there all of his life. He 
was a member of the Empire Baptist Church and was a merchant at Empire. 
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Inez Dykes of Empire; two sons, Cobb Howell 
of Cochran and Earl Howell of Empire; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy LaFavor of 
Warner Robins; two sisters, Mrs. Will Holder and Miss Harpie Howell, both of 
Eastman; three brothers, Allen Howell, Ellis Howell, and Henry Howell, all of 
Eastman. Nine grandchildren also survive Mr. Howell.
 Honorary pallbearers were George Bowman, John K. Jones, Ralph Gore, James 
Dunn, Robert Wynn, Horace Kirkpatrick, Johnny McCarthy, Chudoin Fountain, Sam 
Bowman, and Bobby Rutherford. Active pallbearers were Wallace Lucas, Kenny 
Kirkpatrick, Bob Shed, Stanley Cranford, Leo Cranford, and Junior Parr.
 Sacred songs by Mr. and Mrs. Ben Jackson with Mrs. Jeanelle Harrell at piano.
 Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home of Eastman, in charge of arrangements.

Willie was born 31 Jan 1906 to Willian Ashley Howell and Mary Janie Allen 
Howell. Georgia death certificate #004995.
