Howell, 77, of Gresston, was held December 8, at the graveside in the Gresston Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery. Rev. Ovid Hooks officiated. Mr. Howell died December 6 in the VA Medical Center in Dublin. A native of Dodge County, Mr. Howell was a member of Gresston Baptist Church, a retired farmer and a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army. He was the son of the late Jim Howell and Emmie Campbell Howell and was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Howell. Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Dukes Howell of Gresston; six daughters, Patricia Thompson,Linda Lott, Jan Graham, all of Eastman, Polly Oxley, Sandra Wallace, and Yvonne Oxley, all of Gresston; two sons, Robert Howell and Frank Howell, both of Gresston; one stepson, Jerry West of Atlanta; three sisters, Evelyn Howell and Pearl Smith, both of Cochran; and Opal Rhodes of Gresston; one brother, Emmis Howell of Milan.
