J. R. JONES DIED OCTOBER 3. Mrs. J. R. Jones, the former Miss Sarah Jane Harrell, died Saturday, October 3, of a stroke. She had been ill one week. She was a native of Dodge and was 77 years old. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church at which place services were conducted Monday afternoon by Rev. J. B. Evans, assisted by Rev. L. S. Lamb of Cochran. Interment was in the church cemetery. Hymns were song by Mr. & Mrs. J. E. Conley, H. H. Peacock, Henry Coleman, with Mrs. J. E. Conley accompanist. The following grandsons served as pallbearers: Lester Saunders, Theodore Jones, Robert Holcomb, Edwin Bergquest, Clarence Jones and Kenneth Jones. She is survived by the following children: Ike and J. L. Jones, of Eastman, J. C. and H. B. Jones of Chattanooga, Tenn; Britt, of Dayton, Ohio, S. G. Jones of Atlanta, Mrs. Ivy Wright, Mrs. W. J. Saunders, Mrs. N. M. Peacock, Eastman, Mrs. A. A. Holcomb of Cochran; Mrs. E. J. Acuff, Chattanooga, Tenn. One half- brother, Ace Harrell; and a half-sister, Mrs. Cora Lavendar, also 27 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. I have found no further record of her. I've search Census & Cemeteries for Pulaski and Dodge County, Georgia. Remember this, Sarah Jane was only 5 years old when her mother died.
