                  MR. J. T. MARTIN

Mr. J. T. Martin, one of Dodge  County's most beloved citizens, died at his 
home at Dubois Monday night, following a lingering illness.  He had been in 
failing health several months, but his death came quite unexspectedly and was 
a great shock to his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by the following children:  Mrs. J. T. 
Tripp, Eastman;  Mrs. C. R. Thompson, Webster, Fla.;  Mrs. R. J. Brown, Center 
Hill, Florida;  Mrs. A. J. Pitts, Lake Okeechobee, Fla;  C. C. Martin, 
Empire,  W. G. Martin, Pensacola, Fla.

Funeral services were conducted at Mt. Horeb Church Tuesday afternoon by Rev. 
R. G. P. McKinnon.  A sextet composed of  J. M. Haley,  O. Law,  Holland 
Ross,  Evelyn Haley,  Mrs. A. F. Allen  and  Bob Kimberly,  render a vocal 
program.  The following served as pallbearers, Tom,  Aubry, Lewis  and  Albert 
Knight,  Arthur Bates   and  John Williams.  Interment was in Bowers Cemetery.



Additional Comments:
Compiler Notes:  As stated above he died on a Monday,  using the 1935 
Calendar.  This means he died on the 27 of January 1930. ( Not the 28th as 
stated on Death Certificate. ) Also note the date on his grave is 27 January 
1930.  He was named James Thomas Martin who was born in Georgia on 2 Aug 
1859.  This information is on his grave at Bowers Cemetery, Dodge County, 
Georgia.  He is also listed in the Dodge County Cemetery Book Page 370, 
published by: Wiregrass Genealogical Society in Eastman, Georgia, published 
2005.
