D Parkerson---On Sunday morning, Christmas eve, at 7 o'clock, Mr. C. D. Parkerson, one of the oldest and best known citizens of our country, died at his home six miles east of Eastman. Mr. Parkerson was sixty-six years old and was born and reared not over five miles from Eastman. He leaves a devoted wife and eight children, five sons and three daughters, all grown, to mourn his death. His body was laid to rest at the family burying ground, near Mr. Jordan Brown's on Christmas day with Masonic honors, quite a number being present. A large crowd of friends and relatives lso attended the funeral, Rev. John T. Rogers conducting the religous ceremonies at the grave. In the death of Mr. Parkerson, Dodge County loses a valuable citizen, the church a usefulmember and the people generally, a good friend. The Times-Journal offers condolence and sympathy to the bereaved ones. He married Catherine Harrell "Aunt Katie" on 15 May 1851, the ceremony performed by: Benjamin Harrell, J. P., She was born: 12 Jun 1831 in Pulaski County, Georgia and died 4 May 1901 in the Parkerson Church Community of Dodge County, Georgia. She was the daughter of: Asa Harrell, I. who was born in 1779 and died after 1850 in Pulaski County Georgia, and his wife was Elizabeth Keen.
