Services will be held at 3pm today in Grace Baptist Church with burial in Plainfield Cemetery. The Revs. Claude Healan and Virgil Vickers will officiate. A native of Laurens County, Mr. Peacock lived in Dodge County most of his life. He was a member and deacon of Grace Baptist Church and was a retired Georgia State Highway Department employee. Survivors include his wife, Grace Beck Peaock of Eastman; four daughters, Betty Thornton of Macon, Bobbie Hightower and Lawanda Gillis, both of Eastman, and Carole Bland of Griffin; a son, Benny Peacock of Milan; a sister, Christine Johnson of Eastman; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. The family may be contacted at the residence. The body will be placed in the church an hour before services. Stokes-Southerland Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Additional Comments: Oscar was born 15 Oct 1913 to William Lawson Peacock and Nancy E. "Nannie" Peacock Peacock who are both buried in Reedy Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Laurens County, Ga. His wife is buried in Plainfield Baptist Church Cemetery in Dodge County.
