Rogers, member of a large and prominent Dodge County family, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. A. Coleman, Friday following an extended illness of the infirmities of old age. Funeral services were conducted at the home Saturday morning by Rev. J. S. Hartsfield and Rev. C. A. Jackson. Songs were sung by Dixie Mae Parkerson and Annie Bride Mullis and J. B. Parkerson and J. E. Butler. The following served as pallbearers: C. C. Rogers, John Ross Rogers, L. M. Woodward, H. F. Nicholson, J. D. Cooper and D. F. Thomas. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery. Mr. Rogers was 79 years old and is survived by the following children: Mrs. F. T. Parkerson, Eastman, Route Four; Mrs. J. F. Coleman, Mrs. W. T. Coleman, Plainfield; Mrs. C. E. Peacock, Eastman, Route Four; Mrs. W. A. Pierce, Jacksonville, Florida; Mrs. W. A. Coleman, Eastman, W. J. Rogers, Rhine; Charles B. Rogers, Plainfield; John T. Rogers and M. C. Rogers, Eastman. Additional Comments: Compiler Notes: His full name is Thomas "Tom" Morgan Rogers who was born Mar 1853 in Pulaski {now Dodge} County, Georgia. He died 24 Jun 1932 in Dodge County, Georgia. His father was Thomas Rogers who was married to Miss Ellidia Liddy Mullis. Thomas Morgan Rogers was married on 15 Jan 1871 in Pulaski County, Georgia by: John A. Rozar Not. Pub. his wife was Miss Mary Edith Jones. See her obit. Please Also Note: His father, Thomas made a will in Pulaski County. See WILLS 1855-1906 BOOK "B"., Pages 128 and 129. You will note spelling of last names as RODGERS, all of his children & wife appear in this will. It is not known when the name changed from RODGERS to ROGERS. The ROGERS cemetery is near Yonkers in Dodge County, Georgia and contains about fifty or more graves. I visited this cemetery on 6 Dec 2013.
