Mrs. Mary Edith Rogers, wife of Thomas M. Rogers, died at her home, Chauncey, Route One, Monday morning at 7 o'clock, following a short illness of pneumonia, Mrs Rogers having been confined to her bed early since Friday. The body was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Eastman, Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. R. G. P. McKinnon, Rev. G. M. Acree and Rev. W. A. Duncan. The following acted as pallbearers; S. H. Goolsby, Willis Parkerson, W. J. Anderson, E. R. Taylor, J. A. Harrell and J. B. Parkerson. Mrs Rogers was 75 years old. Previous to her marriage she was Miss Mary Edith Jones. She was born and raised in this county and resided here all of her life. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two brothers and one sister, C. J. Jones and R. M. Jones, both of Dodge County, and Mrs. Nacy Mullis, of Jacksonville, Fla. She was the mother of twelve children, eleven of whom are living, viz: W. J. Rogers, Mrs. F. T. Parkerson, Mrs. Joel F. Coleman, Mrs. Willie Coleman, J. T. Rogers, C. B. Rogers, M. C. Rogers, Mrs. Charlie Peacock, Mrs. B.C. Lowery and Mrs. W. A. Coleman, all of Dodge County, and Mrs. W. A. Pierce of Jacksonville, Fla. She is also survived by fifty-one grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, Additional Comments: Compiler Notes: Miss Mary Edith Jones married 15 Jan 1871 in Pulaski County, Georgia By: John A. Mary was born in Pulaski {now Dodge} County, Georgia 16 May 1849 and died 20 Sep 1924 near Chauncey in Dodge County, Georgia.
