DODGE COUNTY NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS Volume III. 1908-1919 By: Tad Evans See Page 1548 Thursday, October 2, 1919 MR. TOM PETE WILLCOX DEAD. Mr. Tom Pete Willcox died Tuesday evening at his home near Rhine, after several months’ illness. Mr. Willcox had suffered several severe strokes of paralysis, and being between seventy and eighty years old, was never able to recover his strength. He was the son of General Mark Lea Willcox, and was twice married, his first wife being Miss Susan Coffee. There were three children born to Mr. Willcox and his first wife. They are as follows: Mrs. David Bailey, of Hampton Spring, Fla., Mrs. Ferinand Peterson, of near Rhine, and Mr. Oscar Willcox, of Rhine. He married Miss Lula Crittendon the second time, and to this union there were born two children, Pruett Willcox, now fourteen years old, and a daughter, Bernice Willcox, about twelve years old. Mrs. Willcox is still living. Thus passes another of Dodge County’s old settlers, and a man who will be kindly remembered many long years by those who knew and understood him best. Additional Comments: Tom Pete's real namr was Thomas Peter Willcox, his 1st wife Miss Susan Coffee died at or near Pineview in Wilcox County, Georgia. She was burie at Orange Hill Cemetery, Hawkinsville, Pulaski County, Georgia. Thomas married 2nd Miss Lula Crittendon. When Thomas died, she married 2nd H. C. Smith. He was buried in the Rhine Cemetery( with no dates recorded ). She Lula, is also buried at Rhine City Cemetery her grave is marked and identified.
