JOHN S. STEPHENS FAMILY BIBLE

 

Copyright 1837

 

John S. Stephens  was born  April 28, 1806 in what is now Dooly Co., Ga. He 
married Rutha Jane Halladay, born 1814 in Dooly Co., Ga. Rutha Jane was the 
daughter of Thomas and Mary Halladay of Dooly Co.

 

Their children were:

 

Littleton A., born 10/27/ 1832- died 9/17/1842

Eliza Carlew, born 8/29/1833

Nancy B.,9/29/1835

Thomas Jefferson, born 8/29/1837, died 3/25/1838

Mary Ann born, 8/16/ 1840

John  W.,born 1843

Thomas  W., born1/5/1843

Samuel Eason, born 10/5,1845, died  3/13/ 1923

Thomas C., born 10/12/1847

James , born 12/18/1849

Ruthie Jane, born 3/6/1852, died 7/2/1916

Sarah  A., born 3/24/1854

Narcissa Clementine, born 8/23.1856, died 3/5/1896

 

 

NOTES:NOT INCLUDED IN  BIBLE:

 

Thomas W. died young

The last  three girls born was in Ala. the remainder were born in Ga.

Mary Ann married Peter James

Thomas C. married Nancy Payne, daughter of Absoloam Payne

John W. married Emma Fountain

Samuel Eason married Susie Fountain

Rutha Jane married J.T. Stuckey

Narcissa Clementine married B. G. Robinson

Rutha  Jane, wife of John  S. died in Dale Co. , Ala. 1876, burried  Beersheba 
Cemetery

John S. died 1880 and burried Bersheeba Cemetery

 

Thomas C. Hallady died in Stewart Co., Ga.11/7/1857

 

The Fountain girls above were sisters and daughters of Noah Fountain of Dale 
Co., Ala.

All the marriages of the children were in Dale Co., Ala.
