John Byron Harp (parents Andrew Jackson Harp and Matilda Taylor) was born 
October 18, 1873 in Georgia. He died October 29, 1931 in Dooly County, GA.  
  
John joined the Army and went to fight in the Boxer Rebellion in China.  He 
wrote home that he could not walk on any ground without stepping on a dead 
Chinese.

John was known in Dooly County as: "The Best Read Man in Dooly County 
Georgia".  John married when he was 40 years old to Susie Register (age 20).  
Susie was born April 10, 1893 in Georgia. She died May 31, 1961.  
  
John Byron Harp and Susie Register had the following children:
 
  1. Douglas Harp was born 1925? in Pinehurst, GA.    
  
  2. James Loyd Harp was born 1915? in Georgia.    
  
  3. Margaret Harp was born 1920 in Pinehurst, GA.    
   
  4. Mary Lou Harp was born 1914?.    
   
  5. Burnice Aurelia Harp was born July 13, 1918. She died September 29, 
1919.
