Where did you reside on January 1st, 1894 and how long have you been a resident of this State? Dooly Co., GA , sixty-four years 3. When & where were you born? in 1833 Macon Co., GA 4. When & where & in what company & regiment did you enlist or serve on 18th day June 1861 at Marshallville, Macon Co., GA. in Co. C & 12th Reg of GA Vol. 5. How long did you remain in such company & regiment? Until Captured near Richmond, VA last of May 1864. I was held a prisioner at Elmyra prision when parolled in June 1865 after war closed. 6. For how long a period did you discharge regular military duty? until captured & in prision 7. When, where and under what circumstances where (sic) you discharged from service? I was parolled at Elmyra Prison, N Y in June 1865. 8. What is your present occupation? No regular occupation. 9. How much can you earn per annum by your own exertions or labor? Very little. 10. What has been your occupation since 1865? Farming when able. 11. Upon which of the following grounds do you base your application for pension, viz: first "age & poverty,", second "infirmity and poverty" or third "blindness and poverty"? All three grounds. 12. If upon the first ground, explain ....Old age infirmity & poverty by partial blindness. I have not been able to earn a support in 4 or 5 years. I s___ with shortness of breath pills. general debility. can't see well. 13. What property, effects or income do you possess & its gross value? nothing at all. 14. What property, etc. did you possess in 1894, 1895, & 1896 & what disposition, if any, did you make of same? Had none, but small amount of household furniture. 15. In what county did you reside during those years and what property did you then return for taxation? Dooly Co., GA Nothing but household furniture. 16. How were you supported during the years 1895 and 1896? by the aid of my children 17. How much did you support cost for each of those years, and what portion did you contribute thereto by your own labor or income? about $60 nothing only ch__pped around house. 18. What was your employment? Had no regular employment. I worked a little around the house. 19. Have you a family? Yes. Wife one son & one daughter. Have no homestead. Have no means of support but ___ daily labor. 20. Are you receiving any pension, if so what amount and for what disability? None Sworn to & subscribed before me this the 12th day of Jany 1897. W. A. For applicants heretofore allowed pensions Personally appears W. A. Bryan of Dooly Co., GA . . . reside in said state continuously ever since the 25th day of Oct 1833; that he is 64 years old and by occupation a farmer that he enlisted in the military service of the State of Ga during the War between the States, and served for the term of nearly 4 years in Company C, of 12th regiment of GA Vol. that his physical condition is as follows: old age, broke down, hemorroids, rheumitism, blindness.
