7 July 1847—Georgia Journal and Messenger
Notice to Builders.
     Will be let to the lowest bidder, at Vienna, Dooly county, on Tuesday, the 
13th day of July next, the building of a Framed Court House, of the following 
dimensions, to wit: fifty feet long, thirty-five feet wide, two stories high, 
and two flights of stairs.
     The undertaker will be required to enter into a bond, with simple 
security, for the faithful execution of the work, and its completion at such 
time as may be stipulated.  He will be also required to furnish all the 
materials requisite.  Persons desiring to bid, can obtain all the details and 
specifications of the work on application by letter, or personally, to either 
of the Justices of the Court or its Clerk.

28 July 1847—Georgia Journal and Messenger
Burning the Court House in Dooly.
     The Albany Courier of the 24th inst. says The Superior Court of Dooly 
county, held its adjourned session last week.  The Grand Jury, after four days 
incessant labor, in the examination of 67 witnesses, returned a True Bill 
against three of the citizens of that county for the burning of the Court 
House.  They have given security, for their appearances at next regular term of 
the Court.
     The individuals indicted are Edward O Sheffield and Young P Outlaw—Sheriff 
and Deputy.  They are bailed in the sum of $3000 each.  Also Henry Pattee is 
indicted, and bailed in the sum of $2000.
