James H Cross Obituary as it appeared in The Vienna News on December 31st, 1907

   Mr. J.H. Cross a highly respected citizen of the Jerry community passed 
away Sunday night after an illness of only a week. He was seized with an 
attack of acute indigestion Sunday before his death and rapidly grew worse. 
   Mr. Cross was about  60 years old and leaves a wife and several grown 
children to mourn his death. The burial took place at Mars Hill church Monday 
afternoon in the presence of a large crowd.
