DEATH OF MR. C. W. Johns.

An Honored Citizen Who Had Served this city Faithful for Many Years.

Mr. C. W. Johns, who was sick about six weeks, died a few minutes after 11 
o'clock Wednesday morning.  He was thought to have been on the road to 
recovery about a week ago, but had a relapse and rpidly grew worse until his 
death.

Mr. Johns was well known to the people of Dooly county, and had many friends.  
He has been a citizen of Vienna, for the past 14 or 15 years, most of that 
time serving as Marshal for this city.

During his life he proved to be quite a successful buiness man and had 
accumilated some good real estate.

He leaves  heart-broken wife to mourn his death, who was formerly Miss Rena 
Johnson, daughter of W. B. Johnson of Byromville.

His remain were interred in the City Cemetery Thursday afternoon at 2:30 
o'clock in the presence of a large crowd.  Rev. J. M. Kelly, whom the deceased 
esteemed as a friend and reverenced as a man of God, performed the ceremony, 
assisted by Revs Atkinson and Myers.

Compiler Notes:  He is identified As Caswell W. Johns in the Cemetery listing 
published by Nora & Watts Powell.  Mr. Johns was born 15 December 1854 and 
died 12 March 1902 in Dooly County, Georgia (per above obit).  He was listed 
as paying taxes in Dooly County, Georgia in 1875   In the 1900 Census of Dooly 
County, Georgia it states he was born in Georgia and his occupation is listed 
as POLICE. We know he Married 16 Nov 1894 in Dooly County, Georgia  Miss Rena 
Johnson of Byromville, Georgia.
