E. Robertson, 73, who died at her home on Pinehurst, Route 1, on Tuesday, December 16, were held Thursday afternoon at Harmony Baptist Church. Mrs. Robertson was the former Miss Sarah Elizabeth Harpe, daughter of Andrew J. and Matilda Taylor Harpe. She was born in Dooly County on February 3, 1879 and spent the entire span of her long and useful life here. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Final rites were conducted by Rev. G. L. Griffin, of Pinehurst, and Rev. R. L. Harvey of For Valley. The Peavy Quartet sang, "He'll Understand", "Say Well Done", "Mansions Over the Hill Top", and Precious Memories". Pall Bearers were Bill Snelling, Frank Bowen, J. C. Cross, Pat Mashburn, Lon Fullington, and Royce Calhoun. Forming an honorary escort were Jim Reed, Howell Reed, Jim Fullington, D. Mashburn, Matt Bowen, Ernest Clements, Tillman Peavy, Henry Cross, Will Snelling and Lee Williams. Burial was in the churchyard cemetery with Akin Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
