The Cherokee Advance 16 Sept 1882 p 1
Mr. John Shaw, a former conductor on the Macon and Brunswick Railroad, but
lately a citizen of Dooly county, and residing near Gum creek, while
superintending the shoeing of a horse a few days since, was kicked in the
stomach by the animal and instantly killed.
