This was a very sad death indeed. Cards had been printed for her marriage to John S. Sheppard, of Cordele, on the 6th of June--14 days later. Mr. Sheppard was with her through the last days of her life, sat by her in death and saw the breath leave the body promised him for a companion. The funeral at Liberty Church was touching, the minister referring more than once to the presence of the intended bridegroom. She was buried in her wedding dress, and the flowers grown for her bridal wreath were place in her lifeless hand, and Mr. Sheppard wore his wedding suit to her funeral. What could be more touching? Hearts may bleed but they will not break.
