Name: Harrison Nichols Date Of Photograph: June 24, 2003 Photo can be seen at: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/dooly/photos/tombstones/snowmethodistchu/nichols11950gph.jpg Image file size: 166.9 Kb This is my husband's 3X Great-grandfather, Harrison Nichols. We searched all over the cemetery and must have passed it several times. It was 4:00 in the afternoon. We had left LaGrange, GA about 9:00 that morning. It was hot, humid, and there were gnats everywhere. I was ready to give up when I heard Bob yell that he and our daughter Elizabeth, then 9, had found it. Ironic since Harrison's first wife was also named Elizabeth Freeman. Snow Methodist Church & Cemetery is at the intersection of Ga Hwy 230 & Snow Springs Rd in Dooly Co., Georgia. Additional Comments: I believe he is the son of Elbert & Mary Nichols. They are living near each other in the 1850 Census of Houston Co., Georgia. * Dooly Co. created 1821 from ceded Indian Lands Worth Co. created 1853 from Dooly & Irwin Counties Houston Co. created 1821 from ceded Indian Lands Baker Co. created 1825 Early Co.
