K. Wilcox, prominent Valdosta attorney, in Albany this week in the interest of a civil suit in Albany City Court, died suddenly at noon Thursday at a local hotel. Mr. Wilcox had not been well, but had been at the court house Tuesday and Wednesday during the trial of Mrs. Ruby Jennings vs. The New York Life Insurance Company. Mr. Wilcox with Guy Connell, a legal firm partner, and Richard Hobbs and Ernest Wetherbee, Jr. of Albany represented the defendant company. He did not make an appearance at the court house today but remained at the hotel with Mrs. Wilcox. He was scheduled to participate in the closing argument on the case this afternoon. The body was taken to Valdosta Thursday afternoon. The 60 year old lawyer is survived by his wife and two sons, Mr. F. L. Wilcox and Mr. E. K. Wilcox, Jr. of Valdosta, a brother, Mr. Thomas Wilcox and a sister Mrs. Wealthia both of Nichols. Mr. Wilcox was admitted to the bar when he was 19 and practiced first at Statenville. He moved to Valdosta when a young man and entered practice there. He was the senior member of the firm Wilcox, Conell and Wilcox which represented many large corporations. He was very prominent and widely known in legal circles of the state. he had been involved in litigation in many important cases.
