J. Brown Last Rites Set Today" Funeral services for P. J. Brown, prominent Albany leader, will be conducted this afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Brown mausoleum in Oakview Cemetery by Rabbi Julius Kravetz of Tallahassee. Mr. Brown, long prominent in the affairs of the community, died Monday afternoon at his home 430 Society Ave., following a lengthy illness. He was born and reared in Albany and was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel B. Brown. He was educated at Phillips Academy, Andover, Mass. and Yale University, where he earned his degree in electrical engineering. For years Mr. Brown was a member of the City Water, Lights and Gas Commission. He was president of the Albany Exchange National Bank, founded by his father, now in the Citizens & Southern system as the Citizens & Southern Bank of Albany. He was vice president of the Albany Trust and Banking Co. a past president of the Rotary Club, an Elk, a member of Albany Lodge 34 F & A. M. and a Scottish Rite Mason. Survivors include his wife, the former Miss Ella Rust Vason of Albany; two sons, Sam Brown of Albany and Paul J. Brown Jr. of Atlanta; two daughters, Mrs. John Mace of Cambridge, Md and Mrs Norman Chester of Palo Alta Calif; two sisters, Mrs. Harold Hirsch and Mrs. E. E. Strauss both of Atlanta and six grandchildren. The following will serve as pallbearers: Active: Rosser Malone, Lansing Mays, Ray Pinkston, Emory Lewis, Hoyt Edge, Jim Champion Jr., Edgar Tompkins, and W. L. Davis; Honorary: Members of the Albany Rotary Club and George Mock, Maurice Tift, Jim Champion, Sr. E. H. Kalmon, R. M. Marbury, R. J. Edgerly, John L. Arnold, George Whittlesey Sr., J. T. Haley, Dan Gibson, Dr. P. L. Hilsman, E. B. Adams, J. T. Fleming, Clayton Jones, P. H. Jones, Richard Hobbs, Ike Gortatowsky, Harry Prisant, Joe L. Hunter, Y. G.
