Hicks Albany- James W. "Jim" Hicks, 68, of 1720 Christopher Cove Road died Monday October 2, 2000 at his residence. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hall & Hall Chapel with Rev. Tony Haefs officiating. Interment will be held at 3 p.m. at Corinth Cemetery in Hogansville with military honors. Mr. Hicks, a native of Warrenton, had lived in Albany since 1979. He was retired from the United States Navy where he serverd in Vietnam. Mr. Hicks was also retired from Miller Brewing Company and was a member of the IAM local 2699 Union and Mercedes Baptist Church. He established the S. W. Georgia Voicemasters Laryngectomy Club. Survivors include his wife, Jewel Hicks of Albany; son, Tony Hicks of Statesboror; daughters, Jackie Beckum of Reidsville and Elain Langham of Thompson; stepsons, Roy Head and Charles Head both of Savannah and John Marty Head of Albany; stepdaughter, Julie Head of Albany; sister Geneva Coxwell of Bennettsville, SC; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
