Lois Elizabeth Whittington Alred

ALBANY — The funeral service of Lois Elizabeth Whittington Alred, 84, of 
Leesburg, who died Monday, October 7, 2002, will be conducted at 3 p.m. 
Thursday at Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Bobby Harrell and the Rev. Bobby 
Moye will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

A native of Tift County, GA, Mrs. Alred had resided in Leesburg for 60 years 
before moving to Albany. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist 
Church of Leesburg and Fidelis Sunday School Class. She was the widow of Homer 
Cleveland Alred.

Survivors include a son, Eugene Alred of Leesburg; daughter, Nel Granitz of Ft. 
Pierce, FL; two sisters, Debbie Williams of Savannah, GA, and Ruth Lindsey of 
Fayetteville, GA; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
