(Andy) Anderson, Sr., 84, of Putney died Sunday January 21, 2007, at his residence. Funeral service will be held Thursday 11:00 AM at Putney United Methodist Church with interment to follow at Floral Memory Gardens with military honors. Rev. Rodney Body and Rev. Bobby Harrell officiating. A native of Lumber City, GA, Mr. Anderson had lived in Putney since 1957. Mr. Anderson was retired from Bellsouth with 38 years of service and was a member of the Bellsouth Pioneers He was a member of the Golden Key and Palmyra H2U. Mr. Anderson and his wife are the only two active charter members of Putney United Methodist Church. Mr. Anderson started baseball in Putney now known as Southeast Dougherty Youth Baseball League, where he coached for many years. Mr. Anderson was a veteran of the United States Army having served during WWII. Survivors include his wife Mavis Anderson of Putney, 2 sons, L.N. (Roy) Anderson, Jr. and his wife Kim of Dallas, GA, David W. Anderson, Sr. and his wife Linda of Leesburg, daughter, Carole Crenshaw and her husband Steve of Newnan, GA, 2 brothers, Henry Anderson of Clearwater, Fl and George Anderson of Albany, 3 sisters, Louise Ellis of Valdosta, Iris Hennessee of Hazlehurst, GA and Maude Nixon of Gainesville, Fl, 12 grandchildren, Britni Dempsey, Rosemary Anderson, Adam Anderson, Andrew Anderson, Arielle Anderson, Cody Williams, David Wayne Anderson, Jr., Margo Anderson, Melinda Anderson, Shawn Crenshaw, Shane Andy Crenshaw and Amy Crenshaw. The family will receive friends Wednesday 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kimbrell- Stern.
