Ruth L. Austin, 89, of Albany, died Friday, January 7, 2005 at Phoebe Putney 
Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Monday, January 10, 
2005 at Kimbrell-Stern Funeral Directors with interment to follow in Floral 
Memory Gardens with Rev. Charlie Brown officiating. 

A native of Turner County, Mrs. Austin lived in Albany for most of her life. 
She worked for Jaco in Ashburn for many years and retired from Frietex after 
fifteen years of service. Mrs. Austin was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist 
Church and the Pam Travis Sunday School Class. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Cedric C. Austin; two sons: 
Ernest “Buddy” Whiddon and Mitch Widdon. Mrs. Austin is survived by a daughter, 
Barbara Loper of Ashburn; three sisters: Beatrice Knight and Marjorie Sutton 
both of Albany and Alene Leath of Sylvester; a brother Leon Mitchell of Albany; 
five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
