Alice Mae Bailey-Ponder

ALBANY — Alice Mae Bailey-Ponder, 76, of  Albany, died Wednesday, January 29, 
2003, at Palmyra Nursing Home.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Meadows Funeral Home Chapel with 
interment in Floral Memory Garden Cemetery. The Rev. Howard K. James will 
officiate.

Born November 12, 1926, in Dekalb County, Mrs. Bailey-Ponder was a homemaker. 
She attended Dekalb County public schools and received her B.S. degree from 
Clark College in Atlanta. She was a member of 14th Street A.M.E. Church in 
Atlanta and was den mother for the Cub Scouts.

Survivors include three sons, Larry Ponder of Jacksonville, Fla., Randy Ponder 
and Robert Ponder, both of Albany; one brother, Richard Bailey of Atlanta; five 
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
