Elizabeth Runelle York Bates

ALBANY — Elizabeth Runelle York Bates, 82, of Albany, died Tuesday, January 28, 
2003, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

The funeral service will be at 2 PM Friday at First Assembly of God Church. The 
Rev. Craig Howell and the Rev. Carey Robertson will officiate. Interment will 
follow in Riverside Cemetery.

A native of Worth County, GA, Mrs. Bates had lived in Albany for 55 years where 
she was a member of First Assembly of God Church, owner of B&B Grocery for 30 
years, and a former member of the Salvation Army.

Survivors include her four grandchildren, Tammy K. Taliaferro of Leesburg, GA, 
David Lane Parker of Mayville, NY, Marion Randall Bates Jr. of Leesburg, GA, 
and Jennifer B. Allison of Leesburg, GA; 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-
great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m.- 8 p.m. today at Kimbrell-Stern.
