Faye Martin Bennett

FT. GAINES — Faye Martin Bennett, 72, of Ft. Gaines died Wednesday, October 23, 
2002, at her residence.

The funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Vernon Baptist 
Church near Ft. Gaines. The Rev. Randy Stokes and the Rev. Chris Shoemaker will 
officiate. Interment will be in New Park Cemetery in Ft. Gaines.

Mrs. Bennett was born August 14, 1930, in Clay County, daughter of the late 
Otis Lee Martin and Willie Veda Fendley Martin. She was a former resident of 
Quitman County and had lived in Ft. Gaines for two years. Mrs. Bennett was a 
member of Union United Methodist Church near Morris, and attended Mt. Vernon 
Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Claude M. Bennett of Ft. Gaines; three sons, 
Butch Bennett of Valdosta, Michael Bennett of Hilton, and Scott Bennett of Ft. 
Gaines; two daughters, Cherry B. Wilbourn of Hilton and Susan B. Gandy of 
Columbia, AL; three brothers, Justin Martin and Foy Martin of Ft. Gaines and 
Billy Martin of Abbeville, AL; two sisters, Jimmie M. Johnson of Warner Robins 
and Brenda Culp of Abbeville, AL; eight grandchildren and five great 
grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
