Birchfield ALBANY — William P. (Bill) Birchfield, 83, of 10th Ave. in Albany died Thursday, October 24, 2002, at Palmyra Medical Centers. The funeral service will be today 11 A.M. at Crown Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Tony Haefs officiating. A native of Chambers Co., AL, Mr. Birchfield had lived in Albany most of his life where he was a member of Gillionville Baptist Church, retired as chief engineer of K-Country and the Johnny Reb radio station. He was past-commander of American Legion Post 30, he was post Adju for 13 years and also was past Chef de Gare of Post 40 & 8. Mr. Birchfield served in the United States Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Trudy Birchfield of Albany, GA; three daughters, Linda (Rhett) Iler of LaVista, NE, Deborah (Bert) Miller of Milton, FL, Cyndi (Jon) Bell of Pensacola, FL; one son, Randy (Virginia) Flick of Albany, GA; four grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; one sister, Eunice Saines of Columbus, GA.
