Beulah Vashti Smith Black

LEARY — Beulah Vashti Smith Black, 94, of Edison, formerly of Leary, died 
Friday, March 31, 2006 at Calhoun County Hospital in Arlington.

A graveside funeral service will be held 2:30 p.m. today (Sunday) at Leary City 
Cemetery. The Rev. Michael Tier officiating.

Born on January 26, 1912 in Houston County, AL, Mrs. Black was a homemaker and 
a member of Leary United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late 
James Lucious Smith Sr. and Beulah Sessions Smith. She was the wife of E.M. 
Black.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Sanders of Leary; three sons, Emory Black 
and his wife Edith, and Bobby Black of Leary, Charles Black and wife Ester of 
Albany; and six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
