Terris Blackwell

SYLVESTER — Terris Blackwell, 80,  Hwy. 300, Warwick, died Sunday, December 22, 
2002 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.

The remains were cremated. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, 1 p.m. at 
Banks Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. C.R. Gamble officiating.

Mr. Blackwell was born in Mitchell County, GA, on March 1, 1922. He was retired 
from the United States Navy after 22 years as a Petty Officer First Class, 
where he served in the World War II and the Korea War. He was a member of the 
VFW in Albany and a member of Oakfield Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Beatrice (Bea) Sanderson Blackwell of 
Warwick; son, Mark Blackwell of Tarpon Springs, FL; two daughters, Elaine 
Blackwell and Gay Blackwell, both of Sylvester; a brother, Clifford Blackwell 
of Warwick; a sister, Joy Gunter of Mary Esther, FL; a grandson, Shanon Stuart; 
and granddaughter, Brieana Niestrom.

In lieu of flowers memorials to the may be made Oakfield Baptist Church, c/o 
Beverly Purdy, 4944 Hwy. 300, Oakfield, GA 31772.
