Mathews Funeral Home - Obituaries

The funeral service of Charles Gregory ( Gregg ) Bonnell, 45, of Lee Co., GA., 
who died Thursday June 30, 2007 at his residence, will be conducted Sunday at 
3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Leesburg. Rev. Bobby Harrell, Rev. Scott 
Bonnell, Rev. Bobby Brooks, Rev. Dennis Taylor and Rev. David Benton will 
officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery. 

A native of Harrison Co., WV., Mr. Bonnell had resided in Albany since 1969 
before moving to Lee Co. in 1993. He was employed with UPS for twenty years 
before his illness. He was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather and 
enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Craig Dominey Sunday School 
Class, GAS House Gang, First Baptist Church of Leesburg and was known as the 
candy man at church. Gregg was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, 
Leona Bonnell and his maternal grandparents, Ed and Gladys Winans. 

Survivors include his wife, Lesa Back Bonnell, daughters, Brittany and Brooke 
Bonnell and granddaughter, Tate Bonnell all of Lee Co., GA., his parents, 
Charles Eugene and Sue Winans Bonnell, Albany, GA., a sister, Cheryl Weaver and 
her husband Ben, Baconton, GA., a brother, Rev. Scott Bonnell and his wife 
Lisa, Tallahassee, FL., nephews, Riccardo Jones, Albany, GA., Jacob and Ethan 
Bonnell, Tallahassee, FL., a niece Chole Bonnell, Tallahassee, FL., paternal 
grandparents, Jennings and Mary Bonnell, Buckhannon, WV., brother-in-laws, 
Gordon Back, Leesburg, Rick Back, Sasser, GA., sister-in-laws, Sharon 
Leymeister, Sylvester, GA., Debbie Huggins, Pensacola, FL., Donna Cooper, 
Sylvester, GA., Thelma Lee, St. Marys, GA., father and mother-in-law, Rick and 
Flo Back, Albany, GA., and many nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Mathews 
Funeral Home. 

Those desiring may make memorials to First Baptist Church of Leesburg in memory 
of Charles Gregory Bonnell, 135 Main St., Leesburg, GA., 31763 

UPS employees will serve as honorary pallbearers.
