Wilburn Bridges

SYLVESTER — Wilburn (W.W.) Bridges, 77, of Doerun Rd., Doerun, died Sunday, 
December 15, 2002, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cool Springs Baptist Church in 
Colquitt County with interment in Cool Springs Cemetery.

A native of Grady County, Mr. Bridges was born March 11, 1925. He was the son 
of Johnny and Carrie Morey Bridges. He had lived in Worth County for the past 
two years, moving from Doerun. He was the owner/operator of Bridges Remodeling. 
He was a member of Springhill Freewill Baptist Church in Mitchell County. He 
was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Batson Bridges, July 8, 1999. A 
grandson, David Sadler, preceded him in death November 24, 1999.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and (Doug) Maher of Doerun 
and DeDe and (Sammy) Bowman of Albany; two stepsons, Jerry Allen of Albany and 
Johnny Farrow of Idaho; a stepdaughter, Ann Farrow of Alabama; brother, Charlie 
Bridges of Albany; sister, Gwenette Bowden of Albany; and a grandson, Samuel 
Wilburn Bowman.

The remains have been taken to the residence of Kay and Doug Maher, 557 Doerun 
Rd., Doerun, GA, where the family will receive friends.
