Date of Birth: October 24, 1927  
Date of Death: March 01, 2004  

A native of Austin Texas, Mr. Buckner lived in Albany since 1963 and was a 
member of First United Methodist Church for more than 40 years. He was a 
graduate of Vanderbilt University of Nashville TN, and served his country by 
serving in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and later 
retiring as Major in the United States Marine Corps Reserves. He retired from 
Civil Service at the Marine Corps Logistics Base, and did volunteer work at The 
Albany Outreach Center for several years. He served on The Board of Directors 
of AGE (Heritage Bank)for 24 years and from 1977 to 1985 he served as President 
or Chairman of the Board. He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and 
Bessie May Buckner and his first wife Mary Ellen Johnson Buckner.

The funeral service will be at 11 am, Thursday, March 4, 2004 in Walden Chapel 
at First United Methodist Church from 5 to 7 pm at Kimbrell-Stern.
