Henry Allan Burgess 

SYLVESTER — Henry Allan Burgess, 62, of Flat Shoals Rd. Apt. 376, Union City, 
died Monday, August 13, 2007, at the Odyssey House Hospice Center in 
Lawrenceville. 

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in 
Shingler with interment in Shepard Memorial Gardens in Sylvester. The Rev. 
Dexter Taylor, pastor will officiate. 

Born May 14, 1945, in Worth County, Mr. Burgess was educated in the Worth 
County Public School System. He was a welder with Lockheed Martin Corporation 
for 27 years. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Shingler. 

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Smith; six daughters, Cheryl Smith of 
Riverdale, Janifre James of College Park, Teresa Smith of Lawrenceville, 
Yolanda Smith-Hayes of Peachtree City, Makeba Clark of Athens, Solunda Williams 
of Ft. Hood, TX; one son, Reginald Smith of Douglasville; seven sisters, Retha 
Bibbs of Atlanta, Virginia McGhee of Washington, DC, Lillian Bennett of 
Suitland, MD, Vivian Sparks of Springfield, MA, Lorraine Williams of Clinton, 
MD, Carrie Jean Walker of Poulan, Beverly Kay Harris of Springfield, MA; three 
brothers, Arthur Roy Smith of Springfield, MA, Billy Willie Smith of Poulan and 
Johnny Ray Smith of Decatur; 16 grandchildren; one great- grandchild.
