Mr. Alan Burgess, 58 of Pheasant Dr. in Albany died March 1, 2006 at Phoebe 
Putney Memorial.A native of Alameda, CA, Mr. Burgess has lived in Albany since 
1963 where he was a member of Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church, 
Fellowship Sunday School class and was the Past Devotion. Mr. Burgess was very 
involved with Albany ARC where he was a member of the People First Chapter. 
Survivors include his mother, Margaret V. Burgess of Albany, and his friends of 
Albany ARC. He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. O.M. Burgess. Those 
desiring please make memorials to Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church, 
2200 Dawson Rd., Albany, GA 31707 or Albany ARC, P.O. Box 71026, Albany, GA 
31708.  

The funeral service will be Friday 3 PM at Porterfield Memorial United 
Methodist Church. Rev. Nathan Godley, Rev. Nancy Scarbrough, Rev. Betty Lou 
Miller and Rev. Andy Goode officiating. Interment will follow in Crown Hill 
Cemetery.
