Devon Butler

ALBANY — The funeral service of Devon Butler, 54, of Florida Short Route, 
Dawson, who died Thursday, December 19, 2002, will be conducted at 10 a.m. 
Saturday at Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Johnny Roberts and the Rev. Gerald 
Ross will officiate. Interment will follow in Leary City Cemetery. Rhett 
Butler, Hunter Butler, Don Butler, Stan Roberts, Damon Roberts and Todd Winder 
will serve as pallbearers.

A native and life long residence of Albany, Mr. Butler was a Baptist and had 
been employed with Oxford Construction Company as asphalt manager for the past 
twenty five years.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Butler of Dawson; his mother, Loraine Butler of 
Dawson; a sister, Dinah Gay of Albany; three brothers, Donnie Butler and Tony 
Butler, both of Albany and Johnny Butler of Jackson, MO; and a number of nieces 
and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Mathews 
Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorials to the American Cancer 
Society, Dougherty-Lee Unit, 1507 N. Slappey Blvd., Albany, GA 31701.
